A starting point is not a quote
Every figure on this site is where a repair of that kind starts in South Florida, together with the researched market range the same work is quoted in. Neither is a price for your appliance and neither is presented as one. The exact cost is settled after an on-site diagnostic and agreed with you in writing before anything is opened.
Where the numbers come from, said plainly
They are researched market ranges for South Florida rather than a record of this company’s own invoices. National cost bands for the same parts and the same labor, narrowed by what the part actually is on this equipment and by what the installation does to the time. We would rather tell you that than imply a billing history behind a number, and when real job figures replace them these pages change and say so.
What actually moves a figure
- The part. A thermal fuse and a control board are two orders of magnitude apart, and both present as an appliance that does nothing.
- The access. A freestanding range rolls out. A wall oven comes out of a tall cabinet opening, a built-in refrigerator is trimmed into millwork, a fully integrated dishwasher carries your own cabinet panel, and a stacked laundry pair has to come apart before either half is reachable.
- Whether the part is still made. On the current line most things arrive quickly. On the washers and dryers this maker no longer builds, mechanical and electrical parts are commonly still available while cosmetic parts and consoles frequently are not — and you are told which side of that line your repair sits on before anything is ordered.
- What we find. The cheap cause is measured before the expensive one, and sometimes one failure has taken a second component with it.
Two things about KitchenAid equipment in South Florida
Hard water is the local subject, and the maker addresses it directly. Miami-Dade and Broward both soften their water at the treatment plant, because the groundwater they draw on is hard. KitchenAid recommends a water softener at 15 grains or more and publishes its own remedies for spotting and film. We will not print a hardness number for South Florida — no utility here publishes one and the figures sold online contradict each other by five times — so check your own utility’s report. What follows for the money is on the dishwasher and ice pages: descaling and filter service are cheap, and they keep the motors and the modules away.
Humidity is often not a problem at all. A French-door cabinet sweating down the middle in August is documented as normal in humid weather, and the first thing to try is turning Energy Saver off. That is a free answer, and it is on this site because a page that only sold repairs would have left it out.
Independent, and what that means for your bill
We are an independent repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any manufacturer, and we do not carry out repairs on any manufacturer’s behalf. What we do carry is our own warranty on the work we performed and the parts we fitted, and OEM parts are available on order. Brand names and model numbers on this site are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
