KitchenAid does not sell dryers in the United States any more. It stopped in the second half of the 2000s, and the machines still running in South Florida laundry rooms are vented electric and gas dryers that are well past the service life the industry expects of them. That does not make them unrepairable — a vented dryer is a simple, honest appliance and most of these calls end well. It does mean the parts conversation happens before the repair conversation, and this page would be dishonest if it pretended otherwise.
Why the figures here are the lowest on the site
Because there is not much in a vented dryer. A motor, a belt, an idler, rollers, an element or a gas valve, a thermostat and a thermal fuse. Researched market ranges put dryer work at roughly $100 to $300 with an element around $150 to $350, and nothing about this badge moves that. A stacked pair that has to come apart before either half is reachable does, and that is planned rather than discovered.
A thermal fuse that keeps blowing is not a fuse problem
It is a duct problem, and it is the most useful thing on this page. The fuse is doing its job: it is opening because the machine is running hotter than it should, and it is running hot because the air is not leaving. Replacing the fuse and stopping there sells you the same repair again in a few months.
