KitchenAid refrigerator water & dispenser repair
No water at the door, a dispenser that drips, or water arriving on the floor instead of in the glass. Most of it starts at the inlet valve, the filter head or a defrost drain, and almost none of it starts where the puddle is.

On the visit
How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.
-
01
Find where the water actually is
Under the crisper, on the floor at the front, inside the freezer under the drawer, or only when the dispenser is used. Four different sources, and where it collects is not where it starts.
-
02
Work the water path from the wall inward
The shut-off behind the cabinet, the line, the inlet valve and its screen, the filter head, then the tank in the fresh food compartment. Low pressure and a wrongly seated filter both look exactly like a failed valve.
-
03
Check the filter itself
The right cartridge, correctly seated, and not overdue. These are sold as KAD1 to KAD6 and the identical parts are sold under the everydrop EDR names, which is why the store aisle is confusing and why the wrong one gets fitted.
-
04
Then the dispenser
Switch, solenoid, chute flap and the door that has to close on it. A chute that ices shut is a door seal problem wearing a dispenser costume.

Ice and water system repair cost
The most-serviced thing on a French-door refrigerator, and the reason is the design rather than the badge. One inlet valve and one filter feed both the ice maker and the dispenser, which is why they are priced on one page.
- Researched market range: inlet valve $175–$350; ice maker assembly $200–$400
- The floor is an undercounter machine cleaning and descale
- A freeze plug in the fill tube costs the visit and nothing else

French door · Side-by-side · Bottom mount · Built-in · Counter-depth · 30"–48" KitchenAid refrigerator repair in Miami
The largest part of this maker's line and the largest part of our phone. French door and side-by-side, freestanding and built into cabinetry, counter-depth and full depth — and one code that South Florida sees more than anywhere else, because it is the one a cabinet shows after the power has been off.
- PO flashing on the display after an outage
- The refrigerator warm while the freezer is still cold
- Water on the floor, or ice on the freezer floor
-
Undercounter 15" and 18" · 25 lb and 35 lb · Clear Ice · Panel-ready · In-door KitchenAid ice maker repair in Miami
Two different appliances share this card, and knowing which one you have changes everything. There is the ice maker inside the refrigerator, and there is the undercounter machine that does nothing else — a real ice maker with its own drain, its own water line and its own cleaning cycle. In this climate the second one earns its keep and asks for attention.
- No ice at all, with water reaching the machine
- Cubes coming out small, cloudy or hollow
- A cleaning message, or a machine that will not restart after cleaning

About KitchenAid refrigerator water & dispenser repair
The water path, end to end
Water enters at a shut-off behind the cabinet, passes an inlet valve with a fine screen in it, goes through the filter head, fills a tank in the fresh food compartment, and then splits — some to the dispenser, some up to the ice maker. Every leak and every no-water complaint is somewhere on that line, and it is worked through in order rather than guessed at.
What actually goes wrong
- The inlet valve, failed or starved by low pressure.
- The filter, overdue, wrongly seated, or the wrong number entirely.
- The defrost drain, blocked, which is most of the water that appears on a floor with no dispenser involved.
- The tank and its fittings, which sit inside the cabinet and leak into the crisper before they leak onto the floor.
- The dispenser switch, solenoid and chute flap, which ices shut in a humid kitchen.
Why this is the call South Florida makes most
The ice is made in the freezer and delivered through a warm compartment to a door, which is exactly where lines freeze, chutes clog and seals give up. Add a kitchen at 80 percent humidity in August and a chute flap that does not close becomes a block of ice within days.
What it costs
From $175. A drain clearance sits at the bottom of that and a dispenser assembly at the top. The exact cost is confirmed after the on-site diagnostic.

Questions about KitchenAid refrigerator water & dispenser repair
Which water filter do I need?
The maker sells them as KAD1 through KAD6, and the identical cartridges are sold as everydrop EDR1 to EDR6 — same part, two names. The number is printed on the old filter and in the manual, and they are not interchangeable. After fitting a new one the filter indicator needs resetting or it keeps asking.
There is water on the floor and the ice maker is fine.
Then it is usually one of three things: the water line or its fitting behind the cabinet, the inlet valve, or a defrost drain that has blocked so meltwater is running out of the cabinet instead of into the pan. The third one is the commonest and it is a clearing job rather than a part.
The dispenser drips for a while after I fill a glass.
A little is normal — the line above the chute empties. A steady drip is the valve not seating or air in the line after a filter change, and running two or three quarts through it usually settles the second one.
How much does this cost?
From $175, depending on whether it is the valve, the filter head, the tank or the dispenser assembly. The exact cost is confirmed after the on-site diagnostic and agreed with you before any part is ordered.
