Can I fit a gasket myself?
On a freestanding cabinet people often do, and it can go fine. What tends to go wrong is the alignment: a seal sitting a few millimeters out will not close evenly, and the cabinet keeps working too hard while looking repaired. On a panelled built-in door it is a different job again, because the door has to go back true to the cabinetry.

Is a universal gasket cheaper?
