The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
Test the seal rather than look at it
A sheet of paper closed in the door should hold with light resistance all the way around. Where it slides out freely, that is where your cold is going and where the frost is coming from.
-
02
Check whether the door is square before blaming the gasket
A cabinet on a floor that is not level, a hinge that has dropped, or a panel-ready door carrying millwork it was never set for. A new seal on a crooked door fails the same way the old one did.
-
03
Set drawers and rails
Freezer drawers and refrigerated drawers run on rails that collect ice and grit. A drawer that will not close is often the rail rather than the drawer.
-
04
Separate humidity from a defect
In August, moisture on a glass wine cabinet door or down the strip between two French doors can be entirely normal, and the maker says so. What that calls for is a setting, not a part.
The money
What this usually costs in South Florida
The starting figure, the range the market quotes around it, and what pushes a job to either end.
-
Refrigerator door and gasket repair cost
The cheapest job on the refrigeration list, and the one that imitates the most expensive one. A tired seal produces a cabinet that will not hold temperature and a compressor that never stops — every symptom of a repair four times the price.
- Researched market range: hinge, adjustment and alignment $150–$350
- The dollar-bill test is free and takes a minute
- Gaskets are ordered to the model, not cut from a strip

French door · Side-by-side · Bottom mount · Built-in · Counter-depth · 30"–48" KitchenAid refrigerator repair in Miami
The largest part of this maker's line and the largest part of our phone. French door and side-by-side, freestanding and built into cabinetry, counter-depth and full depth — and one code that South Florida sees more than anywhere else, because it is the one a cabinet shows after the power has been off.
- PO flashing on the display after an outage
- The refrigerator warm while the freezer is still cold
- Water on the floor, or ice on the freezer floor
-
Freezer drawers · Bottom mount · Side-by-side · Ice build-up · Frost KitchenAid freezer repair in Miami
This make does not sell a standalone freezer, and that is worth saying plainly: the freezer here is the bottom drawer of a French-door cabinet, one column of a side-by-side, or a refrigerated drawer set to freeze. It is still the half people call about, because a freezer that stops is a freezer full of food.
- Frost building on the walls or under the drawer
- Cold, but not frozen — ice cream soft and meat soft
- A drawer that will not close because ice is holding it
-
Undercounter 15" and 24" · Wine cellars · Beverage centers · Panel-ready · Glass door KitchenAid wine cellar repair in Miami
Small cabinets with an expensive job. A wine cellar holds a narrow band of temperature behind a glass door, in a climate that is working against it and often in a cabinet with very little air. When one drifts, what is inside it is usually worth more than the repair.
- A cabinet running warm, or one zone warm and the other right
- Condensation on the inside of the glass
- A compressor that runs constantly and never satisfies

About KitchenAid door, gasket & alignment repair
kitchenaid door gasket in Miami: door, gasket & alignment repair, what the job involves, and the figure it starts at.
The cheapest repair on the appliance
A seal costs a fraction of a compressor and prevents a good deal of what a compressor gets blamed for. A door that is not sealing lets humid air into a cold box continuously — which becomes frost, which becomes a defrost system working overtime, which becomes a cabinet that cannot hold temperature in August. It is the most worthwhile small job on this site.
What actually goes wrong
- The gasket, gone hard or torn, or pulled loose at a corner.
- Hinges and alignment, particularly on panel-ready doors carrying your own cabinetry.
- Drawer rails, iced or gritty, on freezer and refrigerated drawers.
- Handles and door hardware, which is cosmetic until a loose handle starts twisting the door.
- The anti-condensation heater in a glass wine cabinet door.
Stainless, and what actually marks it
Stainless steel is rust-resistant rather than rust-proof. The cause KitchenAid itself names for discoloration is water left to dry on the surface, which can contain iron. It also warns against bleach, ammonia, citrus and vinegar cleaners, abrasive pads and powders, and states that damage from those is not covered by its warranty. Dry the doors after cleaning them and keep those products away from the finish.
What it costs
From $155. The exact cost is confirmed after the on-site diagnostic and agreed before anything is ordered.

Questions about KitchenAid door, gasket & alignment repair
There is moisture down the middle between my two refrigerator doors.
That strip is called the mullion, and the maker itself describes moisture there as normal in humid weather — along with some frost or sweating on interior walls and food packages, particularly in a home that is not air conditioned. Its own answer is to switch Energy Saver off, because that feature turns off small heaters in the cabinet frame that exist to prevent exactly this. Worth trying before anybody replaces a gasket in August.
My wine cabinet has condensation inside the glass.
Usually the door seal or a door not quite closing on a full rack, and in summer it can be nothing more than the humidity in the room — a cabinet in a garage or on a covered terrace sees far more of it than one indoors. If it persists with a good seal, the anti-condensation heater in the door frame is the next thing to check.
Can a gasket be cleaned instead of replaced?
Often, yes, and it is worth trying first. Warm water and mild detergent, then dried — and nothing abrasive, no bleach and no vinegar or citrus cleaner near the stainless, because the maker warns those damage the finish and says that damage is not covered by its warranty.
What does the work cost?
From $155, depending on which door, whether the part is a seal or a hinge assembly, and whether a panel-ready door has to come off and be re-hung. The exact cost is confirmed after the on-site diagnostic.
