Clear what is only a message
A power outage notice on the display is the cabinet telling you it got warm while the power was off, not a failure. It is acknowledged, the cabinet is given time to recover, and only then is anything else considered.

Read every sensor the cabinet has
These read temperature in several places — fresh food, freezer, evaporator, and on a two-zone wine cabinet one for each zone. A thermistor lying by a few degrees makes a healthy cabinet behave oddly rather than stop, and it is a small part.

Prove the board is actually the problem
A control board is one of the few parts here where the figure is worth discussing before ordering, so it is reached by elimination rather than by assumption.

Set it up and watch it settle
Temperatures are checked at the shelf over a run rather than read off the display, because the display is the thing under suspicion.

The cabinet has opinions, and they can be wrong
Every cold appliance on this make decides what to do from what its sensors tell it. When one of those sensors drifts, nothing breaks: the cabinet simply starts behaving in a way that makes no sense — running constantly, freezing the fresh food, holding one zone and losing another. It is the most common reason a cabinet is described as "possessed" on the phone.
What actually goes wrong
- Thermistors, drifting rather than failing. Small parts, large symptoms.
- The damper between compartments, on a cabinet where one side is right.
- The user interface board, on a panel that lights and will not respond.
- The main control board, which is where an appliance can end up after a brownout.
- A setting, changed by a child, a cleaner or an outage, and never changed back.
After the power comes back
Florida leads the country for lightning, and outages are part of living here. What that means for your kitchen is documented rather than mysterious: notices to acknowledge, clocks to reset, and a breaker cycle of five full minutes as the reset that actually works. A control that will not clear after that is a repair.

My display says PO. What is that?
It is a power outage notice, not a failure. The cabinet lost power long enough to get warm inside and wants somebody to acknowledge it before the panel goes back to normal — usually a press and hold on the button the panel marks for it. We see it in bursts after storms, and it is worth reading as a food-safety message rather than dismissing.
One zone of my wine cabinet is right and the other is warm.
Useful information, because a failed compressor takes both zones with it. One zone wrong points at that zone's damper, fan or sensor. Say which zone when you book and we will bring the likely parts.
The temperature on the display and the thermometer inside disagree.
Then trust the thermometer and suspect a sensor. It is one of the cheapest parts in the cabinet and one of the most common causes of a refrigerator that is running constantly, freezing the lettuce, or never quite getting cold.
Should I be worried about storm season?
Worth being practical about rather than worried. Outages are a fact of life here and appliances report them — a range shows PF, a refrigerator asks to be acknowledged, an oven forgets the time of day. Set the clock, acknowledge the notice, and if a control will not clear after a proper breaker cycle of five full minutes, that is when it needs service.
