A dishwasher connected to a disposal whose knockout plug is still in place will not drain at all. A hood ducted into a long run with several bends loses most of its airflow before it reaches the wall. A vented dryer sharing a crushed flexible hose behind the machine takes three cycles to dry. We disconnect it safely and move it clear, which is the part with water and gas in it. Disposal depends on the building and on what it is — say when you book and we will tell you what is possible at your address. ### My new dishwasher will not drain and it is brand new. On a first installation that is very often the disposal knockout plug, which is fitted from the factory and has to be removed before a dishwasher is connected to it. It is the single most common new-installation call there is, and it is not a broken machine. ### Can you fit a panel front from my cabinetmaker? Yes, and it is worth having done rather than doing at the end of a kitchen job. A panel that is heavy or slightly out of square pulls the door out of alignment, and on a dishwasher that eventually costs a door seal. ### What does it cost?
